Or just plain ACiD-100 for short. I'll be keeping this last monologue as brief as possible as there is just no sense in rehashing (or re-rehashing) what's already been said in the previous three issues. From this point forward updates will be posted on our website and group-wide distributed messages much more seldom. ...CURRENT EVENTS This month ACiD members made their presence felt at two conventions on extreme opposite ends of the underground spectrum. We were first in attendance at the world's largest hacker convention, Defcon 11 (Las Vegas, Nevada) and later the only demoparty assembled in the United States; Pilgrimage 2003 (Salt Lake City, Utah). Many photographs were taken at both events, and (naturally of course) we participated in some of the competitions each had to offer. The coder of our beloved ACiD View version 6 was awarded first place in the Pilgrimage demo-competition with his co-op entry "K-WAK" by K-rad Productions / DC5. Links are in the links section of this newsletter. ...THE PRODUCT 3 MAGAZINE The deadline for The Product #3 articles has been synced up with ACiD-100. Although this pack marks the end of a long standing tradition for the group, our place in the scene is immortal. Since we first released the original Acquisition Update in 1992, well over 3,300 more artpacks have been produced by various other art groups. That figure and the scene both continue to grow bigger and more complex each day. Works of art are beginning to pour in, here are the masterpieces we have received so far: 1. A Legacy at its End by Lord Jazz (JPEG) 2. ACiD 100 Promo by iRON MAN (XBIN/ANSI) 3. Demon by Eight Ball (JPEG) 4. Devoted Symbols by Otium (JPEG) 5. Final Shape by Sonic (JPEG) 6. Flight by Sonic (JPEG) 7. Funktastic by Evolution (MP3) 8. Heart by Jason (JPEG) 9. It's coming by Jason (JPEG) 10. More Noise by Sonic (JPEG) 11. Mercury Dawn by Genetic (MP3) 12. Product 3 logo by Asphyx (GIF) 13. Product 3 Remix theme by Bibby (MP3) 14. Rest for the Wicked by Rimbo (MP3) 15. Sandman on a Canvas (JPEG) 16. Signals by Genetic (MP3) Additionally, Empathy 1.0 (with full source), SimpleXB 1.0 and ACiD View 6.2 will be included within ACiD-100. Again, if you do not see your title above, just re-send it to me at radman@acid.org. Please send your file archived in the ZIP format to avoid it being munged during transmission. ...THE FUTURE After this pack, it's no secret that I will be retiring from ACiD. What happens next could be explored for days and ultimately time will tell. The current hierarchical structure of the organizations is such that day to day operations can easily continue to run smoothly if everyone continues to contribute. No single person makes this possible, our success in the past and in the future will always be due to the devotion of the group as a whole. ...LINKS Below are links to files referenced within this newsletter.
