Hello =) Sure... Ok.. first question- who are you and what do you do? *** radman is now known as RaD_Man :) Oh c'mon... =) heh we can skip the bs part of the intro:) Ok first "real" question I'm that guy who founded ACiD. What inspired you to found ACiD? get down to the nitty gritty =) yep:) if anyone needs to know what acid is I doubt they'd be reading this in the first place... they'd most likely be well.. uhmm.. dumb deaf and blind Question #1: What inspired you to found ACiD? A lot of things really... such as? Truthfully, the motivating factor behind creating ACiD was recognition. You certainly achieved doing that:) How old is acid, anywise? (...) Eight years old. =) Woah:) Was it hard in the beginning? To start the group and all I mean? No, not really. (explanation...) When ACiD started we had a very strong foundation of ANSI artists and sponsors. People were begging for affiliations and distributions sites the day we started. =) Wow- on the top since the beginning. Do you feel the scene is as strong now as it was back then? It's stronger in different ways. The word 'scene' is a very broad term to describe something, but regardless the scene has changed into something very different from what it was 10 years ago. I can see that. At what point did you change from Ansi Creators in Demand to just ACiD? It's stronger because geographical barriers have been broken, thanks to the 'net... We dropped the acronym all together in 1992 after merging with some VGA groups. What would you say is the biggest change ACiD went through so far? *** Diadem sets mode: +o RaD_Man Our most drastic change ever is when we wholly progressed from text based arts to hi resolution graphics based arts. Easily. Anything else about acid you want to add before I start asking questions about you specifically? I would like to congratulate all the members of the 'new' ACiD. Thanks to everyone on our team we made what many voiced impossible possible. =) How long would you say the average member drew before they were good enough to join? (well O.K. maybe a few more general acid questions:) ) That's hard to answer. Let's just say I have no idea. =) Ok... what exactly are your duties as founder? Well I'd like to say that my only duty as founder is founding the group. =) But... Aside from that, I continue to package or assist with the packaging of our monthly Acquisition Update artpacks, of course... Also... I am the webmaster and maintainer of the Artpacks Archive, http://artpacks.acid.org ... How much of your time do these duties take? and general coordination of ACiD as a whole. ahh I spend probably 1 or 2 hours per day spending time with ACID related tasks. What do you enjoy the most? as far as... ? In the computer general... drawing, being a webmaster, observing your success, whatever... Ok scratch that question:) Anything else you want to add before we finish? Oh. =) What I enjoy the most is the occasional phone conference between Cat and I and whoever we're calling that night to catch up with ACiD members, past and present. The local ACiD get togethers are fun too. The social aspects are fun because you meet a lot of really neat people. When I get the opportunity to sketch out a logo or something for a pic that's pretty nice too. cool:) Well... thanks a lot for your time. Have a nice day:) In closing I guess I'd really like to encourage newbies to the art scene to grab some old ezines. Last month I finally brought up the old WORM drive used by (the original) The Dark Society BBS and added all the files to artpacks.acid.org. -- Bringing us the complete Lancelot II magazine collection. There are some great articles in there. Session Start: Sun Jul 05 16:10:40 1998 (c) woezine independed 1998 ::::::
